Geothermal energy in the United States
Geothermal energy in the United States was first used for electric power production in 1960. The Geysers in Sonoma and Lake counties, California was developed into what is now the largest geothermal steam electrical plant in the world, at 1,517 megawatts.
Geyser
A geyser (, UK: ) is a spring with an intermittent water discharge ejected turbulently and accompanied by steam. The formation of geysers is fairly rare and is caused by particular hydrogeological conditions that exist only in a few places on Earth.
Geysers on Mars
Martian geysers (or CO2 jets) are putative sites of small gas and dust eruptions that occur in the south polar region of Mars during the spring thaw. "Dark dune spots" and "spiders" – or araneiforms – are the two most visible types of features ascribed to these eruptions.
List of geothermal power stations
This is a list of operational geothermal power stations with a current installed capacity of at least 10 MW. The Geysers in California, United States is the largest geothermal power station in the world, with a nameplate capacity of 1,590 MW and an annual generation of 6,516 GWh in 2018.
SunLink
SunLink Corporation was a privately owned company headquartered in Mill Valley, California that manufactured renewable energy products. SunLink's Warehouse and Training Center was located in San Leandro, California.
Solar energy
Solar energy is the radiant energy from the Sun's light and heat, which can be harnessed using a range of technologies such as solar electricity, solar thermal energy (including solar water heating) and solar architecture. It is an essential source of renewable energy, and its technologies are broadly characterized as…
Solar thermal energy
Solar thermal energy (STE) is a form of energy and a technology for harnessing solar energy to generate thermal energy for use in industry, and in the residential and commercial sectors. Solar thermal collectors are classified by the United States Energy Information Administration as low-, medium-, or high-temperature…
Solar Energy Generating Systems
Solar Energy Generating Systems (SEGS) is a concentrated solar power plant in California, United States. With the combined capacity from three separate locations at 354 megawatt (MW), it was for thirty years the world's largest solar thermal energy generating facility, until the commissioning of the even larger…
Solar-cell efficiency
Solar-cell efficiency is the portion of energy in sunlight that is converted into electricity by a solar cell. Efficiency, in combination with latitude and weather, determine the energy output of a solar system.
Canadian Solar
Canadian Solar Inc. (NASDAQ: CSIQ) is a global renewable energy company.
